Cincinnati Shakespeare for 6th – 12th Graders

Older kids can sign up for fall and spring acting classes with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is offering fall Shakespeare classes for kids in grades six through 12 who want to work on their acting and team-building skills. Classes take place at the company’s facility located at 1195 Elm Street in Cincinnati. Register your kids now for classes broken into two age categories including:

Available Shakespeare Classes

GROUNDLINGS
(Junior High Acting; 6th – 9th graders)
“Julius Caesar”

Using the play Julius Caesar, participants will learn basic acting skills, ensemble work, Shakespearean text, movement, voice, text analysis, character development and performance. Sunday Fall Semester: Oct. 8, 15, 22, 29 + Nov. 5, 12, 19 and a final performance on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Tuition: $300. Click the Groundlings link above to register.

GROUNDLINGS
(High School Acting; 10th – 12th graders)

Participants will learn performance techniques from professional actors while studying Shakespeare and his texts. This acting-intensive program includes workshops, text analysis and training in voice and movement. Saturday Fall Semester: Sept. 30; Oct. 14, 21, 28; Nov. 4, 11, 18; Dec. 2. Tuition: $375 per semester. (High school students are required to participate in the fall and spring semesters). Saturday Spring Semester: March 2, 9, 16, 23; April 6, 13, 20 and a final performance on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. Register at the Groundlings link above.
