Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is offering fall Shakespeare classes for kids in grades six through 12 who want to work on their acting and team-building skills. Classes take place at the company’s facility located at 1195 Elm Street in Cincinnati. Register your kids now for classes broken into two age categories including:
Available Shakespeare Classes
(Junior High Acting; 6th – 9th graders)
Using the play Julius Caesar, participants will learn basic acting skills, ensemble work, Shakespearean text, movement, voice, text analysis, character development and performance. Sunday Fall Semester: Oct. 8, 15, 22, 29 + Nov. 5, 12, 19 and a final performance on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Tuition: $300. Click the Groundlings link above to register.
(High School Acting; 10th – 12th graders)
Participants will learn performance techniques from professional actors while studying Shakespeare and his texts. This acting-intensive program includes workshops, text analysis and training in voice and movement. Saturday Fall Semester: Sept. 30; Oct. 14, 21, 28; Nov. 4, 11, 18; Dec. 2. Tuition: $375 per semester. (High school students are required to participate in the fall and spring semesters).
