The Historic Burlington Business Association and Boone County Historical Society have teamed up to host Boone County Heritage Day and Chalkfest in downtown Burlington on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Watch artists bring their creations to life on the city’s sidewalks, and let your kids create their own work of chalk art. View a large assortment of vintage cars, meet some live alpacas, and enjoy music provided by well-known DJs, TC and Rockin’ Renee.
Stop by the Boone County Historical Society Museum, located in the old County Court Clerk’s Office at 2965 Gallatin Street, to see a display of antique farm equipment. Local restaurants will be open for business, vendors will sell Italian ice, hamburgers, hot dogs and more, and Battaglia’s Deli will have Cuban sandwiches and Paella available.
“This is the sixth year that local businesses have worked together to hold a Chalkfest in Burlington,” said Jackie Steele, president of Historic Burlington Business Association. “We are continuing to partner with Boone County Historical Society to combine their Heritage event with our Chalkfest. Add some vintage cars and live alpacas to the mix, and you end up with a really fun family event! It gets bigger and better every year. We hope families will come to the event and visit some Burlington businesses while they are here.”
