What is the camp’s mission and philosophy?

Great Parks’ day camps are designed to ignite curiosity, inspire creativity and connect campers with the natural world.

 

What safety measures are in place?

Great Parks prioritizes camp safety with trained staff, background checks, first aid kits, First Aid/AED/CPR training, secure sign-in/out procedures, frequent hydration, sunscreen use and activity-specific guidelines.

 

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

Ages 5-6: One counselor per six campers

Ages 7+: One counselor per ten campers

 

How are staff members screened and trained?

All camp staff members are required to pass a background check, and camp leaders are

Are there opportunities for free play or downtime?

A snack break and/or brief periods of downtime are offered during most camps.

 

How does the camp handle health issues and allergies?

Great Parks uses CampDoc to enhance the camp experience for participants and staff through its specialized electronic health record system. Parents must complete their camper’s health profile online through CampDoc.

 

Are there opportunities for parents to visit or participate in camp activities?

Great Parks’ “Lil Farmers” camps at its Farm & Equestrian Center require one parent/guardian to participate (included in registration). Parents are not permitted at any other camp offered by Great Parks.
