What is the camp’s mission and philosophy?

Cincynature Camp provides a safe, welcoming, & fun environment for children to explore the great outdoors! Children actively challenge their minds and bodies & use their creativity in a natural setting. 

What safety measures are in place?

Safety is our top priority! All Cincinnati Nature Center staff are highly trained in emergency and non-emergency safety procedures, and we have a great relationship with our local first responders.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

Our youth camp groups are made up of 12-13 campers and 2 counselors.

How are staff members screened and trained?

Staff go through a 2-step interview process, FBI and BCI background checks, & a week-long training covering emergency procedures & the mental and physical safety of campers, creating the optimal experience.

Is there a daily schedule, and can you provide an example?

We include our campers in planning the week by asking what games and activities they want to do and giving them choices on a day-to-day basis.

Are there opportunities for free play or downtime?

Yes! We recognize the importance of both structured and unstructured play. The flow of the day goes between high-energy and low-energy activities to help keep children engaged.

How does the camp handle health issues and allergies?

Health concerns and allergies are taken very seriously and are included on our camper health forms. Staff read the camper forms before the camp week, giving us preparation time.

Are there opportunities for parents to visit or participate in camp activities?

Our Little Acorns camp is designed for parents to come to camp each day with their children. We have select camps with optional parent/caregiver activity at the end of week.
