The 2024 JTF Atlanta consisted of 125 groups from 30 states, as well as Washington DC, Canada and Australia. This weekendlong festival was filled with lots of singing, dancing, acting and learning January 12-14 at the Cobb Convention Center in Atlanta, rewarding amazing, student-driven musical theater programs.

Each group had the opportunity to perform 15 minutes of a Broadway Junior musical for adjudicators. Our local students representing The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati proudly presented Seussical JR to actor Katy Geraghty (Into the Woods, Groundhog Day) and Derek Bowley, iTheatrics Teaching Artist, bringing home the Freddie G Excellence in Ensemble award. In addition, TCT’s Camryn Wilkinson and Parker Patton were named Junior Theater Festival All-Stars, a select group of outstanding performers; and Avery Silvestain received the Freddie G Outstanding Individual Performance Award.

All groups took part in fun workshops and got to enjoy a New Works Showcase of performance selections from upcoming Broadway Junior musicals presented by JTF groups, plus other mainstage performances featuring powerhouse Broadway guests! The Junior Theater Festival empowers young people and educators and creates student-driven musical theater around the world. Learn about the JTF festival at juniortheaterfestival.com.
