Are you a teacher or know of an elementary school class seeking field trip opportunities? MetroParks of Butler County and the Friends of Chrisholm are offering field trips to Chrisholm MetroPark Historic Homestead.
This new scholarship program covers the cost of programming and busing for students, teachers and chaperones. It is available to all Butler County public schools. Applying is free, although a limited number of scholarships are available.
Field trips at Chrisholm MetroPark are targeted to grades K – 5 and based on the State of Ohio science and social studies content standards.
A Memorable Field Trip
“A visit to the farm is filled with engaging sensory experiences which are so important to child development,” says Suzanne Roth, director of Programming and Education. “Nothing beats petting a goat, hearing chickens’ banter and moving your body playing games. MetroParks’ goal is to create a memorable experience for every student,” she adds.
The Chrisholm MetroPark Historic Farmstead is a 17-acre property featuring the historic Augspurger House, an Amish-Mennonite settlement listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park also has a nature playscape and and a shelter perfect for lunch on site. To learn more, visit YourMetroParks.net.
