Three of your most-loved arts institutions – The Cincinnati Art Museum, The Taft Museum of Art and the Contemporary Arts Center – have temporarily closed their doors to the public until mid-January area due to a major uptick in COVID cases. However, families can still take advantage of virtual offerings and outdoor facilities.
The Cincinnati Art Museum will be closed through January 12; reopening to the public on the January 13 “while employees and volunteers focus on healing and community service,” according to their website. Although the CAM’s indoor galleries, Terrace CafĂ©, Museum Shop and public programs will be suspended during this ten-day break, their lovely Art Climb and digital resources will remain open and free during this temporary closure. The Taft Museum of Art will be closed through January 13 for “a health and safety break,” according to their website. The Taft says ticket holders for events that were scheduled to take place during this time will be notified about rescheduling or refund opportunities. If you are still wanting to check out some of the Taft’s popular collections including In a New Light: Treasures from the Taft, you can view it online or take a virtual tour (perfect to do with the kids on a snow day!) The Contemporary Arts Center will also be closed through January 13, reopening January 14 “to support the safety of our community and staff,” according the the CAC.
