Jan. 12 marks Martin’s Dream with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (4015 Red Bank Road).  Created, directed and performed by Deondra Kamau Means, this one-man show explores the real person behind the pictures: a funny, intelligent, passionate man whose faith, family and education made him one of the most revered people in our nation’s history.  Watch the story of his life unfold — from his childhood in the Deep South all the way to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.  Best for grades 2 – 12.  Performances are $10 in advance, $15 the day of the show and are held at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.  Visit thechildrenstheatre.com

Jan. 13 and 14 is the date for Madcap Puppets’ performance of Jules & Verne’s Excellent Adventure at the Cincinnati Art Museum (953 Eden Park Dr.).  Two young scientists challenge each other to a race around the world in this wacky production.  Performances are at 1 and 3 p.m. each day, and are free for CAM members, $8 for nonmembers.  Visit cincinnatiartmuseum.org

Jan. 13 brings the Linton Musicians to Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church (6474 Beechmont Ave.) for a Peanut Butter ‘n Jam Session that’s all about the percussion family of instruments.  Performances held at 10 and 11:30 a.m., and cost just $5.  Visit lintonmusic.org.
