Sensory learning is important for your children. Puzzles and sand boxes are fun, but maybe it’s time to get a little messy! Here are a few ideas to get you started!
Mud Painting
Make your own paint brushes out of leaves and paint on the sidewalk or in a sensory table. Maybe they can even paint on themselves, a little dirt won’t hurt.
Slime
There’s so many possibilities! Add glitter, googly eyes, sand, and different colors to your liquid starch and school glue and see where it takes you.
Rice and Colored Ice
Messy sensory play and learning about rhyming. Add a little food coloring or paint to your ice for a different effect.
Water Balloon Paint Party
Fill water balloons with paint and water and throw them at a canvas, or each other.
Shaving Cream Slip and Slide
Slip and slides are fun, but shaving cream can make them better and add some slippage and fun.
Body Stamps with Paint
Paint each other and then press your tummies and hands up against a canvas or some paper to make beautiful art!
Squirt Gun Painting
You can tell them to paint the paper, but they might end up shooting at you. Plan this activity at your own risk!
Sand Foam
Add shaving cream to some sand and squish it between your fingers. Add some trucks or shells for something extra.
Dig for Dinosaurs in Jelly
Who doesn’t love dinosaurs and who doesn’t love jelly? Put them together for some edible and sticky play.
Break the Ice
Freeze a big tub of ice with some toys in it and let the kids chisel it out.
