Put on the Christmas jammies, grab some milk and cookies, change your favorite radio station over to a Christmas station (if you haven’t already done so!) and head over to Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park for Holiday Lights on the Hill.

My kiddos squealed with excitement as we pulled in and they laid their eyes upon the spectacular light display! We drove through tunnels of lights that sparked my daughter to sing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!” When we drove through a candy cane lane, my son shared that it reminded him of the game Candyland. As a former teacher, I loved hearing the connections they made to the lights they saw around them.

The two-mile round trip drive didn’t have just the kids in awe, my husband and I enjoyed it too! My husband stopped the car a few times so we could take in the beauty of the lights. One of the stops he made was at an ice skating rink made of lights. My son immediately realized it was a rink which prompted him to share one of his favorite ice skating memories.

The lakes were definitely my favorite. Lights circled the lakes and went up the nearby trees. The lights made a peaceful and beautiful dance as they reflected off of the lake water. It was so calming, especially as I sat toasty warm in our car. I also really enjoyed the dome made of metal dragonflies that was illuminated by the lights. It was stunning!

A trip through Holiday Lights on the Hill is bound to get you in the holiday spirit and if you’re lucky you will drive away with kiddos sleeping peacefully in their seats!
