Here’s a no-sew kid’s apron that you can whip up in just minutes! Plus, your child will love wearing one of your old shirts.
What You Need
One of your old plaid shirts
Scissors
What You Do
- Lay the shirt out on a flat surface. I used the floor because I had a lot more room.
- Take your scissors and cut from the seam that goes across the shoulder to the collar down to the seam that starts at the arm pit area. You’re only cutting the top layer!
- Now cut around the base of the collar and down the other side just like you did in Step 2.
- Flip the shirt over and cut straight across from the arm pit seam right to the other side’s arm pit seam. Now you’ve created a halter top look.
- Go to the bottom of the shirt and find the side seam. Start from the bottom and cut along the seam up to about the thickness you want the band to be in the back. Once you’ve reached that part, then cut straight across the back and then go down the other side along the seam.
- Now cut the thick back strip right down the middle vertically. This will turn it into the “ribbon” or “tie” for your to tie the apron to the child.
- Now, when you put the apron on the child, you can button up to where you want it and then tie it in the back.
