Get into the Halloween spirit, put on your costumes and head down to the Taft Theatre to kick off The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s 100th year celebration with the adaptation of Casper!  This year the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati is celebrating the “Power of a Child,” and Casper is the perfect child to get the season started.

If you have been to a Children’s Theatre show in the past, this one will not disappoint! If you haven’t been, what are you waiting for? The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati shows are a perfect way to introduce your child to the theatre and build their love for the arts. Their shows are the perfect mix of singing, dancing, stage displays, humor, and length of time, so kids of all ages remain engaged and interested in the show.

My daughter and I enjoyed dressing in our Descendants Mal and Evie costumes this weekend to watch the show. As usual, the stage props and costumes were amazing and visually appealing! My daughter quickly grew fond of Casper and hoped he would find a friend fast.

She whispered into my ear, “He seems so nice! I know he will find a friend!”

TCT’s Producing Artistic Director, Roderick Justice, says it well, Casper, “…teachers us to embrace what makes us unique and proves that compassion, kindness, and empathy, often save the day.”

The theme of being a good friend was strong throughout the show. I enjoyed the humor of Stinky, Stretch and Fatso … and my daughter did, too when she realized why Stinky is called Stinky!
