Duke Energy Children’s Museum, 1301 Western Ave., Cincinnati

All weekend long, cast your vote for the next mayor of Kids’ Town — your votes decide the next elected official of the Kids’ Town exhibit! Current mayor Georgina the American Toad is excited to see which animal candidate will become her successor! Come meet all of the candidates and then stay and play at the Children’s Museum.

A CRYSTAL HOLIDAY

10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Krohn Conservatory, 1501 Eden Park Dr., Cincinnati

Continue a family tradition through January 6th! Watch as trains chug past shimmering frozen landscapes and Cincinnati landmarks during Krohn Conservatory’s holiday show, A Crystal Holiday. ANIMAL HOMES AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

10 – 11:30 a.m.

Cincinnati Nature Center, 4949 Tealtown Road, Milford

Animal homes are all around, but often go unnoticed. Explore the trails of the Cincinnati Nature Center to spot nests, burrows and more to reveal a hidden, busy world of forest friends. Cost is $10, and includes daily admission; Call for more information 513-831-1711 or visit cincynature.org.


SANTA’S WONDERLAND AT BASS PRO SHOPS & CABELA’S

5 – 8 p.m.

Bass Pro Shops is located at 300 Cincinnati Mills Dr., Cincinnati

Cabela’s is located at 7250 Cabela Dr., in West Chester

Bass Pro Shops has transformed into a magical winter village until Christmas Eve for it’s 10th annual Santa Wonderland. And Cabela’s will be following suit with it’s Santa’s Wonderland! Children are welcome to test out Santa’s toys (like Lincoln logs building blocks, remote control trucks and more), make a Santa stocking craft (see website for details and times) and get a free photo with the jolly old elf himself! Santa will be arriving at 5 p.m., and there will be a tree lighting, cookies and hot cocoa to celebrate Santa’s arrival!

THANKSGIVING ON THE OHIO FRONTIER

2 – 5 p.m.

Shawnee Lookout, 2008 Lawrenceburg Road, North Bend

Step back 200 years in the past to the first Thanksgiving on the Ohio frontier. The Society of the Northwest Longhunters reenactors will portray Shawnee Native Americans, early European settlers and military personnel. Samples of period fare will also be available.

2ND SUNDAY: ALICE IN NEVERLAND

2 p.m.

Clifton United Methodist Church, 3416 Clifton Ave., Cincinnati

Tinkerbell needs to hire a detective to solve the mystery of Peter Pan’s disappearance. Who better to solve this case than Alice, the best detective in all of Wonderland! Presented by The Know Theatre.

MORE S’MORES IN THE NATURE PLAYSCAPE

1 – 2:30 p.m.

It’s never too late in the year to enjoy s’mores and campfire snacks. Drop in the Nature PlayScape for a free campfire treat that will fuel you up for a full afternoon of fun.
