Free Fun in the Great Outdoors

Let’s have a great day of outdoor fun with Great Parks Foundation during AdventureFest at Mitchell Memorial Forest on Saturday, June 3 from 12–8 p.m.

AdventureFest is a free community event for kids and adults who want to experience cool stuff to do in Great Parks!

Spanning more than 1,400 acres in western Hamilton County, Mitchell Memorial Forest is home to a challenging mountain bike trail, fishing pond, picnic areas, hiking trails and more. AdventureFest will take advantage of these features in a day full of activities including:

Trail races * Mountain bike demos * Orienteering races * Stand-up paddleboard and kayak demos * Animal encounters * Climbing wall * Nature walks * Food * Music * Beer * REI pop-up bike shop

Music lineup includes Mill Creek Drifters at 12 p.m., Hickory Robot at 3 p.m. and Buffalo Wabs at 6 p.m.

AdventureFest is the same day as National Trails Day. Celebrate by participating in a hands-on trail project, sponsored by REI, starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers will learn about trail maintenance and invasive plant removal. The first 100 volunteers will receive a food truck voucher, courtesy of REI. For ages 14 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Register by June 1 at http://www.greatparks.org/volunteer.

Mitchell Memorial Forest is located at 5401 Zion Road, Miami Township, Ohio 45002. Admission into the park is free, however, trail and orienteering races may require paid advance registration at www.greatparksfoundation.org/events/adventure-fest. The Trailblazer Sponsor for AdventureFest is Mercy Health – West Hospital.
