There are tons of ways to express your love this Valentine’s Day – chocolates, jewelry, a sweet card. But how about a homemade Valentine that the kids can make? Check out this list of do-it-yourself events, all happening for FREE at your local library!


At the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (

Kids can make a card and candy love bug for someone special on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Ridge Branch (6233 Montgomery Road). RSVP at 513-369-4488.


Enjoy some sweet treats while playing games and make heart-y crafts on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Corryville Branch Library (2802 Vine St.; 513-369-6034). No registration necessary.


Make a beautiful paper flower and custom molded candies for someone special on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Forest Park Branch (655 Waycross Road). RSVP at 513-369-4478.


Ages 3 – 6 will listen to stories and make some crafts to say Happy Valentine’s Day on Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Covedale Branch Library (4980 Glenway Ave.; 513-369-4460). No registration necessary.

Grades 1 – 6 can use their imaginations to create a special Valentine on Feb. 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the Covedale Branch (4980 Glenway Ave.; 513-369-4460). No RSVP necessary.
