About Cincinnati Caledonian Pipe and Drums Band
Bagpipe and drum bands are a great family activity that can be enjoyed for a lifetime! The Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums Band is Cincinnati’s premier bagpipe band. The band is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission of preserving and promoting Scottish culture and heritage through Highland piping and drumming. The band teaches free, high-quality lessons for the Scottish great highland bagpipe and Scottish drums (snare, tenor, bass). We welcome students of all ages although the recommended age for children learning the bagpipe is 7 years due to the physical requirements of the instrument. Lessons take place weekly on Thursday evenings from 6-7 PM at Springdale Nazarene Church. Learn more about the band and our lessons program on our website.
Scottish ancestry is completely optional; you just need a love for bagpipe and drum music and a love of learning. No prior musical experience is required. The best way to get started is to read the lessons information on the band website and start attending the free lessons on any Thursday convenient for you. Email with any questions.
