The Cincinnati Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is in its 30th year of teaching teens about leadership, diversity and communications skills, aiming to train future leaders! The Leadership Development Center (LDC) is a four-day, three night summer leadership training program for teens, run by teens. Sponsored by PNC, the program is geared towards empowering youth to find and develop their inner leadership skills. This year's camp will be held on the campus of Xavier University, July 18th - 21st. LDC is a conference for youths entering grades 8-11 (Ages 13 - 16). This camp hosts over one hundred students from around the Tri-State area and serves primarily to help individuals foster their leadership abilities while increasing diversity awareness. The cost to attend LDC is $200. Sponsorships are available on a limited basis. Youth attending LDC will participate in various teen led and empowered sessions including, public speaking, humanitarian efforts, diversity and team building. There are also games, guest speakers and activities all structured to help youth recognize their leadership potential and encourage them to act upon it.
