About Seven Hills School
Seven Hills School Lower School At The Seven Hills School, children explore and grow in learning spaces with low teacher-student ratios, which enable teachers to know every student well, to celebrate each child’s unique gifts, and to work as partners with parents to help every child reach his or her potential intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. Helping children prepare for future success starts with providing a strong, supportive foundation. Among the important building blocks is a carefully designed learning experience that offers a rich array of resources to discover and create, nurturing teachers who are experts at fostering students’ innate curiosities, and an interdisciplinary curriculum that stretches their imaginations and brings learning to life. Our early learners take regular classes in Spanish, drama, library, physical education, and music, in addition to their lessons in math, science, reading, and writing. Our lessons, activities, and learning environments are intentionally designed to engage the whole child—mind, body, and heart. Joy in learning is evident as children pursue their curiosity, make new discoveries, acquire new skills, develop confidence, and make new friends. Beginnings Parent & Toddler Enrichment Program (for parents and their children ages 12-36 months) Designed and led by our team of early childhood teacher and counselor experts, our programs offer specially designed experiences, enabling children and their parents to explore, discover, and create together. Pre-Kindergarten for 2-Year- Olds (for ages 24 months by Sept. 1) Through a combination of research-based planning, close observation, and thousands of joyous hours with young children, our expert teachers have established an early learning program that guides curious children through new experiences. Pre-Kindergarten (for ages 3 to 5 years) Our experienced pre-kindergarten teachers guide children through early exploration of words, numbers, symbols, and songs as our pre-kindergarteners begin to learn how to learn. In addition, pre-kindergarten teachers build upon the themes of sharing, turn taking, negotiating, compromising, and problem solving as young students begin to understand what it means to be part of a classroom community. Kindergarten As their learning experiences progress, so too do the skills and interests of growing children. As our Kindergarten teachers move from one learning activity to another, they follow the emerging interests and talents of their students, attentive to opportunities to support and encourage the varying learning and working styles of each child.
